Scuba Diving Bestseller Advances 300,000 More Places On Amazon.com Sales List!
"Diving The Seamount", Tom Rapko's bestseller, roared ahead on Amazon.com's sales list last week over 300,000 places. This is in addition to the previous week's mercuric rise of 600,000 places!Along with the sales jump, the novel also recently garnered a key review from Don Mitchell, Author of "The 2000 Percent Solution", Amazon.com's Top 3 reviewer of over 2400 books. Mr. Mitchell rated "Diving The Seamount" 5 Stars. Below is an excerpt from his review:"Ever since John Steinbeck took his memorable voyage to Baja California to visit the sea life that is chronicled in The Log from the Sea of Cortez, writers and nature lovers have been fascinated by this desolate stretch of land with its unique ocean environment and independent people.

Diving the Seamount is a fine addition to the literature about Baja California. But Diving the Seamount is more than that. The book captures the importance of self-realization and living in contact with your own spirit in a very effective and poetic way. I found myself reminded of The Old Man and the Sea in several points in the story. The book builds rather simply as several Americans find their way to La Paz for on the seamount (an underwater volcanic mount) there.

Their lives are changed by the experience in ways that they carry with them throughout the book. You also meet the Mexicans who take them on the diving trip and how their lives are also influenced by diving on the seamount. It's a book full of epiphanies

with the diving leader, Pepe, serving as a sort of spiritual guru explaining simple living and healthy contact with nature. The book then follows the lives of those who were on the diving trip and those who came into contact with them on the day of trip. There's a delightful synchronicity involved that reminded me of The Bridge of San Luis Rey.

The book also develops its theme of unnatural versus natural living by showing how that applies for both Americans and Mexicans. The Mexican contrasts between PEMEX and fishing in Baja were impressive. Mr. Rapko's writing is quite good. He keeps it simple and moves his stories along well.

Although the book is a novella, he has the story development more typical of a fairly long novel." Given the propensity of describing life success in terms of material acquisition, "Diving The Seamount" offers a refreshing view on the importance of personal character development and the value of simplicity. And with the holiday season fast approaching "Diving The Seamount" makes a superb choice for the adventurer in your life!"Diving the Seamount", ISBN 0595320856, is available in soft cover for $11.95 at all major book retailers including Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.Tom Rapko is an avid scuba diver, underwater photographer, and impromptu philosopher. With over a thousand dives on five continents, he holds a special place in his heart for the Baja peninsula. He lives in Boston's South End with his wonderful wife Angela..
